Grahams is renowned for producing the finest port wines and is based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal (near Porto). Graham's was one of the first port companies to invest in its own vineyards in Portugal's Douro Valley in 1890 and is now at the cutting edge of innovation in winemaking technology.
Port wine is still made this way by intentionally stopping the fermentation of the grape must and adding a clear grape spirit called aguardente, commonly referred to as "brandy." This preserves a large amount of the grapes' natural sugars, giving Port its characteristic sweetness and richness.
The grapes used to make Port must be grown in the mountainous Upper Douro region of northern Portugal. This protected region is the only place in the world where authentic Port can be made.
Graham's Fine Tawny Port is a classic, elegant tawny port wine made from carefully selected grapes from the Douro Valley in Portugal. This port wine is characterized by its light amber hue and balanced character. With an alcohol content of 19%, it offers a full-bodied, complex aroma that combines notes of dried fruit such as raisins, figs and apricots as well as nuances of caramel and walnut.
Maturation in wooden barrels gives Graham's Fine Tawny Port its soft, silky texture and a harmonious balance between sweetness and spicy elements. This port is ideal as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to desserts, nuts and mature cheese. Available in a 0.75-liter bottle, it promises a unique enjoyment experience for port wine lovers.
