Grahams is renowned for producing the finest port wines and is based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal (near Porto). Graham's was one of the first port companies to invest in its own vineyards in Portugal's Douro Valley in 1890 and is now at the cutting edge of innovation in winemaking technology.
Port wine is still made this way by intentionally stopping the fermentation of the grape must and adding a clear grape spirit called aguardente, commonly referred to as "brandy." This preserves a large amount of the grapes' natural sugars, giving Port its characteristic sweetness and richness.
The grapes used to make Port must be grown in the mountainous Upper Douro region of northern Portugal. This protected region is the only place in the world where authentic Port can be made.
Graham's Fine Ruby Port is a classic, fruity port wine that is appreciated for its lively freshness and intense color. This port wine with an alcohol content of 19% vol. is made from selected grapes from the Douro region in Portugal and matures for a short time in large oak barrels. As a result, it retains its lively fruit aroma and fresh, ruby red color, which is typical of Ruby Ports.
Fruity, dominated by dark berries such as black cherries and plums, with a hint of spice On the palate, it has fresh and fruity aromas, soft tannins and a pleasantly sweet note that is perfectly balanced. The finish is supple and long-lasting with a velvety finish.
