On the edge of the Austrian shore of Lake Constance, in an area with a strong orchard, apples, pears, plums, cherries, apricots, quinces and other fruit and fruit varieties with a distinct varietal character ripen under special climatic conditions. Since 1886, they have been using these treasures of nature to produce distillates of the highest fruit enjoyment. What began as a farm with an inn developed over the years into a cooperage and cidery and finally culminated in today's Verschluss-Fein distillery.
Cored, de-stemmed and mashed, fermentation lasts around 18 days. The mash is then ready for distillation. The double distillation process produces a fruity, unmistakably aromatic distillate, which is then stored for several years in fine-pored stoneware. There, it can develop under optimal conditions before it goes into wooden barrels for a flavorful finish. The apricot specialty is a real aromatic experience on the nose. Intensely fruity with the slightly floral notes typical of the variety. On the palate, the characteristic full-bodied tones unfold with a subtle sweetness and wooden barrel notes. The mild yet wonderfully fruity taste remains in the finish.
