On the edge of the Austrian shore of Lake Constance, in an area with a strong orchard, apples, pears, plums, cherries, apricots, quinces and other fruit and fruit varieties with a distinct varietal character ripen under special climatic conditions. Since 1886, they have been using these treasures of nature to produce distillates of the highest fruit enjoyment. What began as a farm with an inn developed over the years into a cooperage and cidery and finally culminated in today's Verschluss-Fein distillery.
The recipe for this fine liqueur with aromatic spices was provided by Christa Prinz's Viennese grandmother. Warmed with a dollop of cream, it unfolds its wintery character with subtle notes of cinnamon and plums. It tastes particularly good with homemade cookies, in a cozy get-together, but also with vanilla ice cream.
