Maison Janneau is one of the main producers that carries out the distillation, aging and bottling of its production entirely in the region of origin AOC Armagnac. Armagnac was born in Gascony, a region in southwestern France at the foot of the Pyrenees between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean coast, a rolling landscape planted with vines since the ancient Romans and dotted with beautiful medieval villages
.Armagnac is one of three French brandies "appellation contrôlée". The other two are Cognac and Calvados. Armagnac is the oldest spirit in France and probably in the world.
Armagnac Janneau NAPOLEON is a blend of the alcohol distilled from the white wines of the Ugni Blanc and Baco grapes, produced in the Appellation Contrôlées Bas Armagnac and Ténarèze. It is also a combination of two distillation methods: the predominant single and a double distillation. The eaux-de-vie are aged separately in oak barrels for an average of 10 to 12 years, where they develop their special characteristics until the cellar master blends them to perfection.
Smoky notes rise to the nose, accompanied by plums and vanilla with faintly crushed mint leaves. The palate is smooth and balanced with plums, vanilla and stone fruit. Spice emerges on the long finish. It is slightly more aromatic, sweeter and darker than the VSOP.
