Thomas Hine & Co. is a leading producer of cognac, owned by the French company EDV SAS. The Hine House has stood on the banks of the Quai de l'Orangerie, the Charente in Jarnac, France, since the 18th century. Once the autumn grape harvest is over, distillation on lees concentrates the aromas of these resolutely acidic white wines tenfold. At Hine, the French oak barrels in which the eaux-de-vie were matured are selected to showcase their aromatic profile. The aim is not to mask the aromas with dominant wood tones, but to enhance them in a delicate exchange between eau de vie and oak bar.
The Hine Rare Cognac is a blend of eaux-de-vie from the Grande and Petite Champagne, aged in carefully selected oak barrels. Each drop of Cognac Rare reveals a perfect balance between power and elegance.

Notes of spicy, slightly fruity caramel rise to the nose. Tobacco, a touch of orange peel, toffee, cardamom and caraway are equally prominent here in taste. The finish is long and intense.
