Abraham Flores, Master Blender and Head of Pinar del Rio Cigars, got off to a slow start in 2005 with a small cigar factory. Today the cigar factory is a thriving factory in the heart of the Dominican Republic with an excellent reputation worldwide.
The brand name already shows that A. Flores 1975 Cigars is a very personalized cigar brand. In addition to his own name, Abraham Flores added his year of birth to the caption. And this mixture is also something very special. In the insert, Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos are combined with a Dominican binder.
The PDR Robusto Sampler offers a nice overview of five different series from the renowned Pinar del Rio manufactory of master blender Abe Flores. The sampler includes a PDR 1878 Capa Oscura Robusto, PDR 1878 Capa Natural Robusto, PDR Capa Sun Grown Robusto, Flores y Rodriguez Magicos Claro and Flores y Rodriguez Magicos Maduro.
The â1878 Capa Oscuraâ is as dark as dark chocolate. The dark Sun Grown from Ecuador not only looks good, it also has a certain strength, but also an intense sweetness. Like all other 1878 series, the â1978 Capa Oscuraâ is adorned with a perfectly executed âpigtailâ. An H-2000 from the Dominican Republic is used as the binder and is wrapped in Dominican Corojo tobaccos from the Seco and Ligero leaf grades. The sweetness of the Oscuro wrapper leaf is wonderfully complemented by intense earthy notes and a hint of leather.
