Oliva's roots go back to a long tobacco tradition started in 1866 by Melanio Oliva in Cuba. Two generations later, in 1966, Gilberto Oliva Sr. left his homeland. After extensive travels through various countries, the Olivas found a new home in Nicaragua in 1994. The following year, the first private label was born. After opening a new factory in 2003, the Oliva brand made its breakthrough in the market in 2006 with the V Series. In 2014, Oliva Serie V Melanio was named Cigar of the Year by Cigar Aficionado. The Oliva family of cigars stands for quality and impeccable craftsmanship - including the V No. 4 cigar. The long filler was made by hand in Petit Corona format.
