In June 2002, Don Pepin Garcia founded the "El Rey de los Habanos" factory with his family. Pepín came from a family of tobacco farmers and joined the family business in 1961 at the age of 11. In 1963 he joined the "Félix Rodríguez" factory, owned by another uncle and always located in Baéz. There he developed a long career until he was finally able to leave Cuba in 2001. During this time he received numerous prizes and awards for the quality of his work, including the prestigious Productivity Award.

Today he has his own factory in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami. This manufactory belongs to the quality elite of the industry and is universally recognized. For José "Pepín" García, cigars represent his career and passion. His factory "El Rey de los Habanos" is the fulfillment of a childhood dream. To achieve this ambitious goal, José “Pepin” Garcia brought his son Jaime on board. Together, the two created a Nicaraguan puro. A “Corojo Rosado” is used as the wrapper. The blend is elegantly balanced and delivers intensely earthy aromas accompanied by woody notes. The blend tends towards medium-bodied and is the perfect introduction to the world of “My Father Cigars”. José was so impressed by the support of his son Jamie that he immortalized himself and him with a JJ on the second cigar ring.
