Tullamore Distillery is an Irish whiskey distillery in Tullamore, Ireland.
The Tullamore Dew 18 Year Old is a triple distilled Irish single malt whiskey that has been aged for a total of 18 years. First, this whiskey matures in ex-bourbon casks and then it is stored in various casks such as the Oloroso ex-sherry cask, ex-port and ex-Madeira cask. The second maturation lasts at least 6 months, after which the spirit is made from the various casks barrels mixed together.
Notes of wood and malt rise into the nose, accompanied by aromas of fresh fruit, spices and caramel. On the palate one perceives notes of vanilla, oak notes, baked apples, cinnamon, marshmallows and biscuits. The finish is long-lasting, malty and slightly sweet.
