This rum is made by the Trois Freres Distillery in the Seychelles.
With the St André Series, exciting rum was created that not only reflects the Seychelles tradition, but also uses new techniques. This St André Extra Noir is a "pressed rum", this technique is also called cavitation. Cavitation can be described as an accelerated maturation process in which small pieces of wood are added to which the organic matter is extracted by creating low-pressure bubbles which then collapse again, releasing a great deal of energy. It went through a four-day soak with French wood chips. The subsequent pressing took about eight hours with French and ex-Bourbon wood. This blend was bottled from distilled pot and column still molasses rum at 43% ABV. The pressed rum was then placed in some very old ex-bourbon casks to rest in the tropical island climate for 60 days.
 The result is a dark, intense, strong and full-bodied rum on the palate, which reveals beautiful oak wood notes with vanilla aromas and sweet undertones from the bourbon wooden barrel.
