Scapa is a whiskey distillery in St. Ola on Scapa Flow on the Mainland Island of Orkney, Scotland, UK.
The Scapa distillery is the only one in Scotland to produce stills with Lomond. The exception is Bruichladdich, where the Lomond Still is used to produce gin. Lomond stills are an intermediate form of continuous and pot stills. The Lomond still has a cylindrical shape and movable copper plates on the inside.
In terms of taste, this whiskey is very balanced, slightly spicy. It tastes of honey, vanilla, ripe pears and a little citrus. You can also perceive a touch of oak. The finish is very long with oak tones and sweetness in the background.
