Each plantation rum is an expression of its Caribbean country of origin. Alexandre Gabriel, Maison Ferrand's owner and master distiller, works closely with local distilleries who produce the rums, where they have to age in warm Caribbean cellars for the first part of their lives. Alexandre has cultivated enduring relationships with the finest Caribbean distilleries. The name Plantation is intended to reflect the most important terroirs and rum cultures. Plantation also owns the mythical West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados and is a shareholder in National Rum of Jamaica, owns Clarendon Distillery and Long Pond Distillery.
"Only rum from the Pacific Ocean available in Europe Rum made from sugar cane molasses, this rum was distilled in Fiji in column & pot still Double matured in oak barrels, several years of it in Fiji, then partly in cognac"
Intense notes of molasses and pear rise into the nose, joined by fruity notes of apple, banana, gooseberry and spicy aromas of nutmeg and vanilla, with a hint of smoke. On the palate it is very rich with flavors of vanilla fudge, honey, ginger and fruity notes of plum and coconut.
