Kilchoman is one of the younger whiskey distilleries in Scotland and one of nine active whiskey distilleries on the Hebridean island of Islay in Scotland.

This whisky comes from the family-run Kilchoman distillery, which is known for its traditional production approach and the use of local peat. The Sanaig is mostly matured in ex-sherry casks, which give it a rich, dark fruity note and emphasize its strength. The nose is enveloped in a deep and smoky peat aroma, which is complemented by notes of dark fruits, especially plums and cherries. This is joined by spicy hints of cinnamon and vanilla, which provide a harmonious balance.

On the tongue, the Kilchoman Sanaig Cask Strength develops a powerful, full-bodied texture with a dominant peaty taste, which is accompanied by fruity and sweet aromas. Dark chocolate, sherry and slightly nutty notes can be detected, creating a complex depth. Long-lasting and intense, with a smoky finish and a hint of sea salt that emphasizes the maritime character of the Islay region.
