Johnnie Walker is the Diageo brand of Scottish blend whiskey and the world's best-selling Scotch whiskey. John Walker & Sons acquired the Cardhu distillery on Speyside in 1893, and the company became part of the Distillers Company (DCL) in 1925 , DCL was taken over by Guinness in 1986. Guinness merged with Grand Metropolitan in 1997 and founded Diageo in 1997. Production of Johnnie Walker was moved to Diageo's bottling plants in Leven in Fife and Shieldhall in Glasgow.

Johnnie Walker Island Green is a new interpretation of the classic Johnnie Walker Green Label. Composed of the best mature malt whiskies, the distinctive character is created. Johnnie Walker Island Green is a new interpretation of the Green Label, made with malt whisky from each of the four corners of Scotland. The "Island Malt" focus is determined by the four main whisky regions of Scotland. The smoky, maritime aroma of "Caol Ila™", "Islay" balanced fruity Highland malts including "Clynelish™", the light Lowland malts like "Glenkinchie™" and the classic Speyside style "Cardhu's™". 

 On the nose, notes of ocean and fresh black pepper mingle with tropical notes of sweet vanilla, toffee and earthy sandalwood. This spectacular whisky features unique flavor variety and intensity with full body and warm spice notes. It skillfully balances the unique sweetness of the fruit with the richness of the smoke. Johnnie Walker Island Green has a complex and long-lasting finish that combines mild and moderate peat smoke with sweet, fruity flavors.
