Glenlivet is a whiskey distillery near Ballindalloch, Moray, Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1824 as the first legal distillery under the Act of Excise of 1823 by George Smith. The distillery has one mash tun and eight fermentation vats. For The Glenlivet American oak barrels are used in which, for example, sherry or bourbon has already been stored and which give the whiskey its own aroma.

Originally released for the Travel Retail market, Glenlivet's Master Distiller's Reserve Small Batch is made from specially selected casks, including ex-sherry casks with first fill, American oak casks and traditional oak casks.

The whiskey reveals notes of dried fruit and spices. In addition, there is the sweetness of vanilla and a creamy overtone of coconut. Fondant and pudding also resonate. Something spring-like floral is complemented by ripe, hearty pears.
