Glenfiddich is a whiskey distillery near Dufftown in the former County of Banffshire in Scotland. Glenfiddich is one of the largest single malt producers in Scotland. With the help of his nine children and a stonemason, William Grant fulfills his lifelong dream and builds a distillery that he does named after the nearby Deer Valley "" Glenfiddich "". After only one year, on Christmas Eve 1887, the first drop of whiskey flowed out of the copper stills.
This whiskey is not just any special edition, but rather a milestone in the history of the Glenfiddich Distillery. It was the first single malt to ripen twice in this distillery.
Earthy notes rise into the nose, which combine with a deep note of wood, vanilla and a hint of coal. On the palate it is rich and multi-layered, fruity tones of plums, cherries and pears, paired with toasted notes, nuts and fluffy biscuit - the fruity sweetness of sherry hovers above everything, accentuated by subtle notes of tobacco.
