Edradour is a Scottish whiskey distillery and was founded in 1825. It lies in a small valley, hidden by the surrounding mountains, east of the village of Pitlochry and was for a long time the smallest whiskey distillery in Scotland. Originally the distillery was called Glenforres. Edradour is the last original 'farm' distillery with very traditional equipment. The stills are the smallest in Scotland and that must add to the unmistakable richness of the malt.
As is typical for Edradour, only the best ingredients and the best Scottish spring water are used for this whiskey.
Since 2003 Edradour has been producing a heavily peated single malt whiskey under the name of the old Ballechin distillery. This is now the first 10-year-old Ballechin, stored in exBourbon and exOloroso sherry barrels.
A single malt with a strong smoky and peat note. It also has strong notes of dark fruits, vanilla and oak.
