Along the north coast of Ireland, where arctic storms rage against the rugged cliffs and where the crisp waters of the River Bush slice through volcanic rock, generations have passed down an ancient tradition of distillation. "Bushmills" received its license to distill in 1608 and is the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world.
Bushmills 21-year-old is a triple distilled and matured for a long and peaceful 18 years in a combination of Bushmills’ signature Bourbon and Oloroso barrels. The whiskey is then married and transferred to decadent 1st fill Marsala fortified wine barrels for a further three years.
Finished with a pleasant aroma of caramelized brown sugar, gently toasted oak and a blend of orange and vanilla that can be detected on the nose.
This decadent three wood single malt has pleasing characteristics of warming ginger, figs, plums and cherries, combined with hazelnut, chocolate and soft oak.
