In 1770 the Glasgow Distillery Company was founded in Dundashill and remained active until it closed in the early 20th century. Glasgow Distillery Company uses the finest distilling equipment, sources the finest ingredients and uses the finest casks from around the world.
The Glasgow 1770 Peated matures in pure American oak casks and then further matures in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
After maturation, a slightly floral, sweet BBQ smoke rises in the nose. Notes of rich toffee and dark fruit are evident on the palate, accompanied by hints of tobacco leaf and dried apricots. The finish is long and here, too, one perceives a hint of spices.
